The Erechtheion as a symbol of democracy has been badly cracked. Women carry the burden of democracy with their heads held high - even in the shadows. But women lack hands. In the light they squint their eyes and in the shadows they no longer have any.
A rift is running through democratic societies.
Democracy seems to have become incapable of acting.
Blinded by prosperity, it ignores change and goes blind in the face of the emergence of parallel worlds.
